Honey BBQ Chicken Wraps made with crispy baked chicken smothered in a simple homemade honey bbq sauce.
If we ever go out to eat at a chain restaurant like Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Robin or some place like that, I always go straight for the “wrap” options on the menu.
Wraps always sound good to me, and I also love to get ideas from the menu of ways I can make them from home. They make great, EASY dinners, and I can always count on my family to eat them happily. Check out some of our favorite other wraps.
These Honey BBQ Chicken Wraps were developed in the aftermath of making this yummy baked popcorn chicken. We loved this crispy, juicy popcorn chicken so much (especially dipping it in BBQ sauce!) that I knew immediately that I wanted to transform it into a wrap.
I kept this recipe pretty simple because they crispy baked chicken smothered in BBQ sauce is the real star of the wrap. I added some coleslaw for crunch and flavor and the end result was completely DELICIOUS!

Recipe

Honey BBQ Chicken Wraps
Ingredients
- 1/2 recipe baked popcorn chicken
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups packaged coleslaw (or broccoli slaw)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Honey BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (I like Sweet Baby Rays Original)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 Tablespoons ketchup
- Sriracha hot sauce (optional), to taste
Instructions
For the sauce:
- Heat the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Place the baked popcorn chicken bites into a large bowl.
- Pour most of the warm honey BBQ sauce on top (reserve a little extra for dipping or adding to the wraps) and gently toss to coat.
Assembly:
- Sprinkle a handful of shredded cheese on the base of the tortilla. I like to place them on a hot skillet for a minute or two for the cheese to begin to melt.
- Top with 5-6 pieces of bbq popcorn chicken.
- Drizzle with a little more BBQ sauce if you like a lot of sauce. Top with a handful of coleslaw mix.
- Roll and secure with a toothpick, if needed. Serve immediately.

The best homemade chicken recipe I have used. They were very crispy and you could taste the undertone of the seasoning. We “sauced” half of them with BBQ sauce and half with buffalo sauce.
SO delicious.. I am a pretty picky eater but I loved them.
So good! I changed it up a bit – I had leftover Chex rice cereal (instead of corn flakes), I did not add honey to the sauce and put the wraps on a grill skillet to add a little outside crunch. So good!
Hi— sorry if this is a silly question! Does packaged coleslaw mean with the sauce or just the bag of shredded coleslaw veggies, without the sauce??
Bagged veggies without the sauce.
Absolutely love your creative idea with honey bbq chicken wraps! Can I post it on my blog? Thanks, Lauren for sharing!
Did you make the chicken bites or did you buy them made, I could’nt find the recipe in the instructions?
If you click on “baked popcorn chicken” in the ingredients it’s a direct link to the recipe: https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/baked-popcorn-chicken/ 🙂 Hope you enjoy them!
What do you consider large tortillas?
Any tortilla will work :). I use a 8 inch tortilla because I like a larger wrap.
Lauren, Delicious! I wonder, but a lot of calories?
Lauren, Thanks for the recipe. Delicious!
So beyond delicious, the popcorn chicken is oustanding and crispy!
Thanks Alex! I’m so glad they turned out well for you!
If you wanted to make the chicken ahead of time, like the night before, what’s the best way to reheat it for these wraps?
I would reheat it in the oven at about 450 for 4-5 minutes. Hope you enjoy them!
Looks at first sight so unhealthy. But after seeing the ingredients in the recipe i understood all fine, definitely these honey BBQ chicken wraps i will recommend to my friends. Thanks for sharing!
I love the presentation style. One week before I tried beef wraps with cheese and my family really loved it.Surely gonna try this too.
Tried these last night and couldn’t get enough! They have the texture of deep fried chicken without the added calories. The sauce is bomb! It makes the whole meal!
I agree! Thanks Amanda! So happy you liked them
Hi Lauren,
These look really yummy and I can’t wait to try them this week! When making the wrap, do you only use the cabbage for the coleslaw or do you buy the kit with the dressing included and prepare the coleslaw before putting it on the wrap? Thanks so much!
I’ve only used the fresh veggies, but I think it would taste delicious prepared with the dressing to!
