This easy Air Fryer T-Bone Steak recipe delivers a perfectly seared, juicy steak with a restaurant-quality crust in just 10 minutes of cooking time; no grill or cast iron skillet required.

Did you know your Air fryer can make a great steak?
I used to think you needed a fancy grill or a smoking-hot cast iron pan for a great steak recipe but this air fryer method completely changed the game for me! No heating up the grill and I use air fryer liners to make clean-up super easy. The steak is perfectly cooked and juicy.
When choosing a type of steak, you want something at least 1-inch thick with some marbling. We recommend a T-bone steak, ribeye, NY strip or Sirloin for the air fryer.

How to cook T-Bone Steak in Air Fryer:
Make Herb Butter and Prep Steak: Take steaks out of the fridge and let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Season each steak with salt and pepper. Make herb butter by combining all ingredients in a bowl then keep in the refrigerator.
Air Fry and Rest: Spray air fryer basket then place steak in basket. Air fry for 4 minutes then flip and cook for 3-5 minutes longer, until desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer: 130-135°F for medium rare, 135-140°F for medium. After steak is done, let it rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes with foil covering it.
Serve: Add a spoonful of herb butter on each steak and serve with instant pot mashed potatoes, a wedge salad, and no-knead artisan bread! Don't miss all of my other high protein recipes!

I admit to original skepticism, but this was delicious. I live in California where it is almost always possible to light up the outside grill, but got lazy and tried this instead. Not that charcoal flavor you get from actual grilling, but so easy and so delicious!
I followed your exact recipe, and this came out perfectly! So delicious and easy!
I stink at making steak… I’d love to try this, but I’m allergic to rosemary. Can you suggest different herbs that would give a good flavor for this recipe?
I’d suggest fresh thyme instead!
OMG…. My daughter and myself made this tonight, with a side of Mac N Cheese. Came out PERFECT, thank you so much for the recipe. I actually saved it so we can make it again. *** If anyone is making this, FOLLOW the recipe, the Garlic, Rosemary butter, AWESOME. Lauren, keep up the great work.
I’m not going to lie, this one took some convincing, but I was intrigued by the 20 min cook time. I must admit, the steaks were delicious! It didn’t quite have that sear that you get from the grill, but it was every bit as tender and delicious.
Will be making this tonight.
Would love to hear how it turns out for you!
