This Almond Poppy Seed Bread has the perfect soft, light and crumby texture and has just the right sweetness. A simple bread that your whole family will enjoy
I absolutely love simple no-yeast sweet breads that you can make from home, usually with ingredients you already have in your pantry. Some of my favorites are listed just before the recipe card.
A friend made this lemon loaf recently and it was so yummy I knew I wanted to make a spin off almond version, because I LOVE almond flavor in bake goods (like this yummy Almond Sheet Cake). This Almond Poppy Seed Bread is just perfect. Perfect soft, light and crumby texture.
This bread is not too sweet, but sweet enough that you could never stop at one slice. It makes the perfect “neighbor gift” or it’s perfect for serving at brunch, as a snack, or even for dessert.

YES! I have tried like a half-dozen recipes to try to recreate the krusteaz almond poppyseed muffins from the box, and I finally found it 😀 made as directed into 12 muffins and baked 20 min. Thank you!!!
I love this bread!! The whole family did and it didn’t last long on the counter.
I’ve just received a bread machine hoping it would help cut down some of my leg work on bread making. Would this recipe work? I know I would have to liquids first. So far, the breads I’ve made in the machine, are not as good as traditional. Just curious
The first time I made this bread my dog hopped half up on the counter and ate half of it, so it’s definitely labradoodle approved! But then tragedy struck – I found out I was allergic to dairy! I was so distraught in believing I would never again taste this delectable bread again. But alas, I came to my senses and realized I could use dairy-free substitutes. So, the point of writing this is to remark how amazing this bread is, to tell whoever is reading this to make it right now, and that vegan butter, oat milk, and vegan sour cream (at least Tofutti brand) works more than fine for substitutes! It’s still the amazing bread I remember!
Can this recipe be made with almond flour too
I haven’t experimented with that. I’d love to know how it goes.
All time family favorite! I use 4 Mini loaf pans and bake 28-30 min. An often special request from the grandkids
I have been making this almond poppyseed bread recipe for over a year now and I have to say that it does not last a day or less in this household! It has wonderful texture and taste and it has been my go-to, comfort snack for some time now…..
I made this yesterday it came out moist but had no almond flavor. It was more like pound cake with poppy seeds. I even used another half teaspoon of almond extract.
