Holy sodium bomb Batman, this is SALTY! Chex have sodium, mixed nuts, crackers, pretzels, butter, worstershire…. and then 2 teaspoons of Lawry’s? I had to add another 1/2 recipe of dry ingredients and some brown sugar to tamp down the salt. If you’re fixing this for a night of beer drinking, it’s perfect!

Bob, I find the store bought Chex mix is way saltier than this. This was a hit at my party and no-one complained of it being too salty.

I know this makes 10 servings, but how big is a serving?

The best way to figure out the exact amounts is to weight the entire thing and divide it by 10.

So glad you love it! 🙌 The nutrition info is per 1 cup serving—not the whole batch!

This is great seasoning for Chex mix. You can mix up the other ingredients to suit your taste. Goldfish for cheese crackers, a little less Chex cereal and oyster crackers instead, etc. I like chili powder versus cayenne and hot sauce as it’s not spicy hot but adds a bit more umami. And definitely add way more mixed nuts!!

That sounds so good! I love how customizable Chex mix can be — swapping in Goldfish or oyster crackers is such a fun twist. And yes, chili powder adds that perfect depth of flavor without going overboard on heat. Can’t go wrong with extra nuts either, they make every handful even better!
