Why I love this recipe:
- Less than 30-Minute Meal – Boursin pasta is often my dinner solution on busy nights when I’m short on time and ingredients. It’s one of our favorites!
- Creamy – The boursin cheese makes the sauce so creamy, flavorful, and incredible.
- Picky Eater Approved – Every picky kid (or spouse) will devour this creamy pasta dish. We never have leftovers.
How to make Boursin Cheese Pasta:
Cook pasta in salted boiling water, according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain, but reserve pasta water.
Cook Chicken: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add olive oil. Add chicken and cook until browned, turning once, until cooked through (165 degrees F). Remove to a plate to rest for a few minutes, before chopping into pieces.
Make Boursin Cheese Pasta Sauce: Add butter to pan then fry shallots for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low. Add 1 cup reserved pasta water to the pan and scrape up any browned bits. Whisk in Boursin cheese until melted and smooth.
Assemble: Add cooked pasta and chicken to the pan then toss to evenly coat in sauce. Add a splash of pasta water, if needed, to thin the sauce then season with salt and pepper, if needed. Garnish with fresh parmesan and parsley then serve boursin pasta hot with homemade breadsticks and a wedge salad.

My family loves a creamy pasta dish, so I was excited to try this for the April Cooking Challenge. The sauce is so easy and fast! I will keep this in the rotation for a quick weeknight meal. Thanks for sharing!
Made this for dinner tonight and it was incredibly quick and easy to pull it all together. My family enjoyed the creaminess of the sauce and liked the chicken. The pasta is a fun shape for the littles as well.
This pasta dish was so quick and easy to throw together. So delicious!!
This pasta was a win for the whole family. The kiddos loved the cheesy and creamy noodles. I appreciated the simplicity (and snacking on the Boursin before tossing it in the recipe). Next time around I would add some spinach and possibly veggies.
It’s quick and easy and a great use for leftover chicken or veggies in the fridge!
My husband’s first comment was this recipe is a keeper! It came together very easily. I chose to air fry my chicken instead of pan frying and that was even easier. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. I coated it with olive oil and Italian seasoning. The pasta had just the right amount of silky decadence without feeling too heavy. Definitely a great weeknight dinner or good enough for company too!
This is was perfect for 30 minute Thursday! Because I had leftover chicken breast it was even faster than that! The sauce was delicious and hubby was excited that there was enough left over for lunch today. Thank for the new easy go-to dish.
My family loves Boursin so I knew it would be a hit! And I was right, it was so good and everyone gave a big thumbs up!! What I loved was it was a quick weeknight meal that I could easily make and serve with a side salad and please my whole crew! This one is going into my meal rotations! Thanks Lauren!!
Made this for dinner last night and I must say it was very tasty. I have never tried Boursin cheese before and it kind of reminds me of a cream cheese loaded down with flavor. I could eat it with crackers alone it was so good. I paired this recipe with some roasted asparagus and mushrooms with garlic to help balance out the cream and starch. If you’re looking to try a cheesy and creamy pasta dish that’s a ray of sunshine in each bite, I’d recommend giving this one a try.
This was so tasty and easy! Rich and creamy. Definitely a dish you could make for company to impress. Tastes like you spent hours in kitchen.
quick & easy to make but imho not that good for the price of boursin, $8 a piece.. my kiddos loved it tho, also added broccoli for some veggies
Super tasty and versatile recipe! The boursin is so creamy and adds tons of flavor. I added some sun dried tomatoes, asparagus tips and sliced zucchini as well. Delish!
The dish came together so quickly and was perfect for a week night meal. It was creamy and paired deliciously with a salad and some side veggies. I plan on making this recipe again soon!
First time using the Boursin cheese. Great flavor. Easy and quick recipe to make. Kids loved it.
Another great weeknight dinner! This was simple and quick, but full of flavor. My whole family gave it 5 stars! We will for sure have this again.
Really good, easy and fast. I made a half recipe and it was plenty for 3 😁
My new GO TO! So yummy and easy to make. Definitely on the list of regulars. Going to make it next week when I go to my son and daughter-in-laws. My granddaughter will love it!
Made this for my family, they loved it! I received many compliments and recipe requests. Would definitely recommend!
Incredibly creamy, and came together so quickly and easily. This was definitely a crowd pleaser in my house.
The boursin gave this dish so much flavor, and the pasta shape made sure you got all that sauce incorporated. (Love farfalle for that!)
Delicious!
This recipe is a quick and easy recipe to make anytime, but especially when you only have 20 minutes. Full of delicious flavor and creaminess, after one bite I promise this will be in your staple recipe. I have a cast iron griddle and I honestly will use it every occasion especially grilling chicken, if you have a cast iron griddle I highly recommend using it, you’ll really get the shar creating such an amazing flavor to your already delicious meal, 10/10.

This is a great and easy recipe! I like it as a weeknight recipe because its great as is, but if need be, simple ingredient swaps can be made.
My husband who’s learning to cook the occasional meals for us, because of a new baby, finds this easy to follow!
**All the better if you can Boursin on sale! It freezes well and defrosts easily. Make sure to take the foil off if it goes in the microwave!
Very delicious! Creamy and full of flavor. I just wish Boursin wasn’t so expensive in my area.
I’m glad you liked it! I buy my Boursin in a 3-pack from Costco, if that’s a more affordable option?
I made this for dinner tonight! It was super easy, filling and delicious. My husband and 1 of 2 kids liked it, so that’s a win for us! Ha! Next time, I will save the parsley for garnish for those who want it. The 7 year old didn’t like “the green stuff” 😉
I LOVE this recipe! I made it last night for dinner with asparagus and both my husband and I really enjoyed the meal. It did only take about 30 minutes as mentioned. I look forward to the first of the month to see “what’s next!” Thank you for another great challenge recipe! Yum!
I needed a quick and easy meal and this knocked it out of the park! My husband immediately complimented the sauce and he’s the biggest critic of new recipes. It’s simple and easily ready in less than 30 minutes. I paired it with steamed broccoli. Defintely going into my meal rotation!
EASY! And, of course, delicious! I made it last night, and my husband thought it was so good that he offered it to the electrician who was working late at our home! (It serves 6, so we had plenty left over for lunches.) I do think I will add some spinach to the recipe next time I make it, so we can get our greens. Thank you, Laura! You have never disappointed! <3
We loved this recipe! I had never bought Boursin cheese before so glad it was at our co op. Used a random noodle we had, and we had multiple servings :)!
Tasted a bit bland… needed extra Parmesan cheese for flavor. Healthy and eaten by teenagers who tend to be more selective.
Holy weeknight meal, Batman. This recipe is so easy and delicious that it is 100% worth the price of Boursin cheese. I added a generous spoon of minced garlic in with the diced shallot. This one is for sure going in the regular rotation.
This was amazing! Farfalle pasta is one of my favorites, so I was excited to try this. It did not disappoint. I added some chopped mushrooms with the shallots because I had some in the frig that needed to be used. Great dinner both quick and tasty.
This recipe was fantastic! So quick and easy and full of flavor. Definitely a keeper in dinner rotations!
This dinner was so yummy and truly come together in 20 minutes! It’s a great one to add to a weeknight rotation. My only change would be to throw in some veggies. I think next time I make it (because I’ll for sure make it again), I’ll add a bag of frozen peas!
