Very good – since Lipton Soup Mix has GMO ingredients
I’m so thankful I found this recipe. My husband is CKD and I’m always looking for replacement things..I sent for no sodium beef bouillon granules so I can make this..pot roast , meatloaf, and dips just haven’t tasted the same without dry onion soup mix…can’t wait to try
This came in so helpful in a pinch. I hate having to go to the store for 1 missing ingredient, but was out of this. Added bonus that most of those packets usually have a lot of sodium so I liked that I could control that. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Are dried onion flakes the same as dried minced onion?
Yes they are!
Question…if making the double orctriple batch but only needing to use for 1 batch how much do you scoop out of the jar?
How would you add Better Than Bouillon to this mixture?
Like Lauren said to another similar question, just add Better Than Bouillon just before cooking. I love Better Than Bouillon!
Exactly. I used the paste and have a gooey clump. ☹️
BUT I would use the LOW SODIUM one OR at least start with HALF amt listed. You can always add other half as needed
This was awesome in a pinch and now I think I will make it instead of buying the packets! So simple, easy, and inexpensive with the spices I already have on hand. Thank you!!
I agree! Thank you!
How much does this make, one envelope worth?
yes
My husband is trying to really watch his sodium, so I was thinking this would be a better alternative. Saying that, are you certain that the sodium count on this is correct? I know that the beef granules would contribute a fair amount, but this is HIGH. ??

ABSOLUTELY !
Can this be made in bulk? For example make like six servings for 6 different meals at different times.
Yes, you can!
I am thinking of making this but I use the beef paste, can you still mix it in with the dry ingredients and store it? not sure how that works or if I should leave it out and add it when I am going to use it in the recipe
Wondering the same thing? Maybe my reply will trigger an official response. 🤞🏻
Leave it out and add it just before using.
