This microwave Chocolate Mug Cake recipe will become your new obsession; it's the easiest and fastest way to make dessert for one or two, and you wont believe how delicious it is! This mug cake recipe is made with chocolate chips and no eggs.
My late-night sweet tooth is a real thing and it has led to the creation of some of my favorite dessert recipes, like S'mores Bars, Blintzes, and Monster Cookies. But nothing beats a chocolate cake in a mug or cup in just one minute, in the microwave!

I tried my first mug cake recipe a few years ago and it was a disaster. A few days later I tried another recipe. Again, a disaster. Most recipes were dry and tasteless, and contained eggs.
Inspired by my favorite chocolate cake recipe, I set out to develop a rich chocolate mug cake without eggs (you don't need a whole egg, for only one serving of cake), that wasn't dry or spongy and that satisfied my chocolate cake craving. I'm so excited to share the best chocolate mug cake recipe with you!

This is the best mug cake recipe I’ve ever tried. I’ve made it several times with great results each time. This is my new go to late night craving treat!
I have tried so many mug cake recipes throughout the years and this is truly the best one! So So good
Best chocolate mug cake I’ve ever made!
The only chocolate mug cake recipe you will ever need. It’s absolutely perfect!! I made it two days in a row.. will be a challenge not to make it everyday.
favorite chocolate mug cake recipe! always a go to when im having a late night chocolate craving. super moist and i really like how the chocolate chips make it so fudgy. perfection.
Don’t recommend using flaky salt, strawberry milk and hot cocoa instead of cocoa powder
IT WAS PERFECT!! I DID NOT ADD CHOCO CHIPS,, BUT INSTEAD ADDED 2 TB OF PEANUT BUTTER. MICROWAVED FOR 80 SEC AND TOPPED WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM IM SO HAPPY!
Excellent! I’ve made it 3 times and it turned out well. I did use a small bowl fir mixing and then poured into a mug. I also tried 3 T. Gluten-free Better Batter flour with GF chocolate chips and it was really good, especially with a little whipped cream on the top.
it was amazing! This is a delicious concoction to make as feeling bored, (Or,having a sweet tooth that needs treating!)
That’s exactly what I use or for, treating my sweet tooth!!
Easy peasy! Daughter loved it!
Made as close to recipe as possible, with only sub being oat milk and olive oil (we don’t do dairy and canola/vegetable oil, and i was out of coconut/avocado oil). Doubled it in a 12oz mug, microwaved for 2 min in a 700w microwave. Absolutely scrumptious!
I didn’t love this recipe. The texture of the mug cake was spongy and there was’t much flavor, despite the fact that I added chocolate chips.
I can’t stop making this recipe. It’s very easy and uses ingredients that I actually have in my pantry. Thanks for sharing and can you please buy me a gym membership so I lose all the weight I’ve gained because of this recipe? haha
How would you suggest I go about making a larger quantity to just add the wet ingredients at time of microwaving? We made this recipe tonight and it was a HUGE hit. I am looking for an easier way make this after dinner without taking out all the ingredients. Thank you.
You could easily measure out all the dry ingredients ahead of time – meal prep style- and dump them into separate containers or small ziplock bags. I wouldn’t recommend mixing more than one serving of dry ingredients together. Then when you’re ready to microwave, add milk, oil, and vanilla.
Amazing recipe! Not too sweet and 75 seconds was perfect. I used butter instead of oil as that is my preference.
