This microwave Chocolate Mug Cake recipe will become your new obsession; it’s the easiest and fastest way to make dessert for one or two, and you wont believe how delicious it is! This mug cake recipe is made with chocolate chips and no eggs.
My late-night sweet tooth is a real thing and it has led to the creation of some of my favorite dessert recipes, like S’mores Bars, Blintzes, and Monster Cookies. But nothing beats a chocolate cake in a mug or cup in just one minute, in the microwave!
I tried my first mug cake recipe a few years ago and it was a disaster. A few days later I tried another recipe. Again, a disaster. Most recipes were dry and tasteless, and contained eggs.
Inspired by my favorite chocolate cake recipe, I set out to develop a rich chocolate mug cake without eggs (you don’t need a whole egg, for only one serving of cake), that wasn’t dry or spongy and that satisfied my chocolate cake craving. I’m so excited to share the best chocolate mug cake recipe with you!

I originally shared this recipe July 2019. Updated January 2022.
I was home alone one night and perfectly sufficed my cravings. Would do just great for uni! definetly a 10/10.
I cut the sugar in half as suggested, and added 1.5 teaspoons of peanut butter powder. Cooked 70 seconds, perfectly cooked. Yummy!
Accidentally made this using ginger infused canola oil and it gave it a nice kick. It smells weird just as you take it out of the microwave but it tastes great. 10/10 would make again with or without ginger.
Made this recipe but didn’t have any coco powder or anything like it so I subbed the milk for sugar free chocolate milk and added another tbsp of flour. Came out wonderful. It was a bit dense, but still had a pleasant texture. Keeping this recipe for later!

Made this twice now. SPOT. ON. Excellent recipe for when I am craving something sweet on the fly.
Just made this for the first time and I am impressed. Definitely saving. I microwaved for 70 seconds and it is nice and moist. I was having a real bad sweet tooth so I topped it with some whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Delicious!
