This old fashioned Peach Cobbler recipe is not only extremely easy to make from scratch, but it’s made with fresh or canned peaches so you can enjoy it all year round! It’s one of my favorite family recipes from my mom, and although I am bias, I think it’s the best of the best!

Peach Cobbler

Peach season is pretty much the best time of the year, am I right?! I love going to “pick your own” farms or buying a large box from a local vendor. Peaches are one of those things I could never get sick of! I have too many favorite peach recipes that I rotate through them each season, starting with my favorite homemade Peach freezer jam.

This peach cobbler recipe comes from my mom, and it is a family favorite recipe she made for us all the time growing up! The best part about it is that it literally takes 5 minutes to throw together! My mom often used a quart jar of homemade canned peaches, but you can also use fresh peaches!

How to easily peel peaches:

I’ve found the easiest way to peel peaches is to gently lower 2-3 peaches at a time into a pot of boiling water. Leave them in the water for about 30 seconds, and then remove them to an ice-water bath. The ice water bath will shock them and keep the peach flesh from cooking, but the peach skin will be so easy to peel that you wont even need a knife!

How to make Peach Cobbler:
  • Add the sliced peaches, sugar and salt to a saucepan and stir to combine. Cook on medium heat for just a few minutes, until the sugar is dissolved and helped to bring out some juice from the peaches. Remove from heat and set aside.

Side by side photos of a saucepan with sliced peaches in it, and the other photo with sugar and salt added on top.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Slice butter into pieces and add to a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, to allow the butter to melt. Once melted, remove the pan from the oven.
  • In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined. Pour the mixture into the pan, over the melted butter and smooth it into an even layer.

Process photos for making peach cobbler, including melting butter in a 9x13 inch pan, pouring batter on top, and then sliced peaches and juice on top of the batter.

  • Spoon the peaches and juice (or canned peaches, if using) over the batter. Sprinkle cinnamon generously over the top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Serve warm, with a scoop of ice cream, if desired.

How to store and reheat peach cobbler:

Peach cobbler is best enjoyed warm, right after it’s baked. Store leftover cobbler covered, in the fridge for 4-5 days.

To reheat peach cobbler, use the microwave or oven. To reheat in the oven, remove it from the fridge and allow it to come to room temperature. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes or until warmed through. (Place tinfoil over it if it’s browning too much).

Tell me this isn’t the epitome of comfort food desserts?! A bowl of warm peach cobbler served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream on top is seriously my idea of heaven.

Just like Grandma’s follow the recipe didn’t have nothing to it like everybody else turned out excellent

  2. Served this last night for company. Everyone wanted the recipe. Because I didn’t want to be doing lots when my guests were arriving, I measured out the dry ingredients the night before and stored them in zip-lock bags. On the day of, I peeled the peaches a little earlier in the day and stored in an air-sealed container. Then I warmed up the peaches with the sugar mixture and made the batter as (took 5 minutes), and popped it in the oven. It was great.

  3. 5 stars
Simply the best recipe didn’t add nothing like everybody’s got to just did it the way I did it the way it says it come out excellent

I had never made peach cobbler before and tried this recipe. It was delicious and quite a hit. Ended up making it twice in one weekend . Will be making again for sure.

So easy and delicious! I freeze in individual glass containers to pop in the microwave when I need a treat! I used my frozen peaches.

  7. Loved this cobbler recipe. Might cut back on the sugar, but all an all great cobbler. Definitely will keep with my favorites.

Delicious! It is so easy to make. I’ve made 4 times. The first time I overmixed the batter, still delicious but butter came to the top. Now it’s perfect and our favourite dessert. Thank you

My first cobbler to bake. AMAZING and the family and I LOVED IT!

I only had 2 peaches to slice. So after I heated the salt, sugar, and peaches in a pan, I heated a second pan of salt, sugar, and 1½ cups of frozen blueberries. In the 9×13 baking dish with the melted butter and the flour mixture, I added the peaches to one half of the pan, and the blueberries to the other half of the pan. Topped the peach half very well with cinnamon and I topped the blueberry half with cinnamon-sugar. 38 minutes later, added cool whip and it was FANTASTIC. Thank you for this recipe. Highly recommended

I normally reduce all my recipes on the sugar content, I reduced to 1/2 cup for each the each cooking and the flour part as well. It was still too sweet for me. I agreed with the review, the butter can also be reduced to maybe 2 tbsp instead of 6 tbsp. It is a quick recipe to follow.

  11. 5 stars
We tried this as the sweet end to a Southern inspired meal. It was delicious, simple, straight forward pleasure. For me it was a tad too sweet, but will simply cut down on the sugar next time. A definite keeper.

Lost my cobbler recipe and just put 16 Qts of peaches in the freezer. Thank you for this! So perfect! Love the batter so much I added another 1/2. My husband shared some at work and now they won’t leave me alone. I won’t lose this one. Thanks for sharing!

  13. All I ended up with was a pan full of liquid. What happened. I knew that wasn’t enough flour to make a crust? So disappointed. A complete waste of ingredients.

  14. We are going to a party and I would like to make this ahead of time and bake it there. Will that work ok? Thank you

    1. If it were me, I would measure out the dry and wet ingredients, seperatly, and quickly stir the batter together when you arrive.

Peach season is my favorite summer treat. I’m a lot of things but a “baker” I am not. So I looked for an “easy cobbler” and found your recipe. It was absolutely amazing. I have my 3rd one I’ve made in the last 3 weeks about to come out of the oven. This is definitely a winner! Thank you for posting it

  16. Using the above recipe, instead of a batter I used box cake mix, spread over the peaches and dotted the cake mix with butter. SOOOO much easies. .

  17. 3 stars
Way too much butter and too sweet even with sugar cut by 1/3. Maybe because I used tinned peaches in juice? And I used the recommended sized dish but it seemed like there wasn’t enough batter. Maybe a smaller dish?

  18. 5 stars
This is the first time that I made a peach cobbler. I came across your recipe. Followed your ingredients and steps but increased everything as, I had extra peaches. The first bite was “mind blowing”! Thank you. So easy and delicious.

  19. 3 stars
The recipe tasted good, but it was not the consistency of normal cobbler. I won’t be using again. I love baking and I followed the directions to a t.

  20. I have just tried the peach cobbler but I set oven to 350 , and the top burnt , however it looks nothing like your recipe and I followed it to the t ???
    Thanks

Made this using the 2X amount. After it came out of the oven a HUGE pile of butter formed at the top. WAY TOO MUCH BUTTER. It was super greasy also the peaches pretty much turned to mush. Taste was good just too greasy and mushy

  22. 5 stars
I much prefer crisp to cobbler, so as far as cobblers go, this one was great. I have absolutely NO IDEA why so many reviews said this was too sweet. I made this without any modifications and it was just the right amount of sweet.
I used fresh peaches from my dad a tree. They were little, so I just measured 4 cups worth.

  23. I’ve been using this recipe for a few years now. It’s yummy. My dad makes me use more peaches. About 8. I also changed the batter up a little bit. Instead of 1 cup granulated sugar, I use 1/2 cup granulated and 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. This recipe is yummy either way. Thank you for your recipe!

  24. 1 star
Batter on the bottom? Thought it was weird, gave it a go….. It didn’t rise. Looked at a handful of other recipes and all put on the top. Super sad, hand picked peaches and a crappy cobbler

  25. 5 stars
It was strange to me to put the butter in the dish and then the gummy dough mixed into the melted butter. And it seemed backwards to put the peaches on top! But after it came out of the oven all cinnamon and bubbly! Omg the best I’ve ever tasted!!!

  26. Dee-lish! Super simple to make, very easy to follow recipe with good instructions and photos. A bit too sweet for my taste and will try cutting sugar in half next time and add more peaches. But super yummy.

  27. 1 star
This was sickeningly sweet in both the filling and the dough. Is it meant to be made with unripe peaches?? I can’t even fathom why someone would want to eat it like this. I triple checked the recipe after I made it, because I was convinced I made a huge error in my measurements, but I followed the recipe exactly. The dough is fully “baked,” but because the sugar content is so high it’s more like a gooey underbaked cookie than like any cobbler biscuit or cake topping I’ve made in the past. Now I’m sad that I wasted 5 delicious peaches 😢

  28. Tonight I made this for the third time and each time used fresh peaches. All three times I simply sliced the peaches, keeping the skin on them since I wanted to retain all of the vitamins. I then cooked the peaches according to the recipe. I also reduced the sugar somewhat as it was a bit sweet for me the first time around. such a delicious cobbler, the best I’ve ever tasted. Everyone with whom I’ve shared it agrees!

  29. Oh wow, I had bought some peaches from Aldi’s they weren’t quite right so I decided to make cobbler, and came to your site easy to make, easier to eat! I didn’t have it out of the oven 10 minutes and my husband was diving into it! This is the first time I have ever made a cobbler thank you for the recipe it was delicious

  30. 1 star
I’ve never left a review for any recipe online but I decided this cobbler was bad enough that I’d warn others. I truly believe most of the reviews on this page are fake and this recipe only shows up on Google because it wins the SEO lottery. This cobbler has no flavor profile other than the obscene amount of butter in it. I like butter as much as the next person but this was just gross. Normally I like cobbler because it mixes fruit flavor with a pastry bread flavor, but for the first time ever I ate around the breaded part just to avoid the butter. I made it for a group but after the sample, I saved a few scoops of just the fruit and threw out the rest. Shame.

  31. I made this using a 1lb bag of frozen peaches and it was sinfully delicious. This recipe is definitely going into my regular dessert rotation.

  32. 5 stars
I made this peach cobbler. It was delicious and the way it was made surprised me. I never thought of putting the fruit on top. It turned out great at 38 minutes. My son loved it.

  33. 5 stars
First I’m made this yummy dessert last night.instead of 1 cup of sugar I cut in haft 1/2 cup of sugar I added the sweetness was totally perfect.

  34. I’ve made this for my son’s pool party. Oh my it was gone in a heartbeat😋
    Question for you:
Can you freeze the peach cobbler?
I was thinking of doing 2 small pans. Make one and freeze the other one. What do you
    think?
    Thanks

    1. Lauren doesn’t recommend freezing it. It’s pretty easy to put together and tastes so much better fresh. You could just half the recipe for the pool party!

  35. 5 stars
Just made this fantastic recipe… after making 2 other recipes, I wanted something easier and quicker…this was it! When the peaches come in, I’ll be pulling this recipe out… several times! Thank you Lauren… it’s delicious! I think it could be really good with blueberries, too!

  36. This is really good. I was thinking I would next time make 2 smaller pans then freeze one. Would that work? and can you freeze this?

    1. Hi there! So glad you enjoyed the peach cobbler! It really is best fresh, so we don’t recommend freezing it. But if you’d like, you can definitely half the recipe and make just one smaller pan instead. That way, it’s just the right amount to enjoy fresh!

  37. This recipe is amazing!
It was easy, smelled wonderful, and the taste … phenomenal!
    Thank you for sharing!

  38. 1 star
This recipe is terrible. Way too buttery, way to sweet and it is too thin of a consistency and doesn’t want to bake so you practically end up burning it. I’ll stick with the good old Bisquick or Jiffy Mix boxed recipe.

  39. 5 stars
Lauren!!!! This recipe was so delicious it was darn right disrespectful! OMG! My family devoured it! The only thing I added was tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the peach mixture. This is my go-to peach cobbler recipe from now on! Absolutely delicious!!

  40. 4 stars
I followed the instructions, but after 40 minutes the cobbler batter was still gummy. I left it in for another 25-30 minutes and it came out great

  41. 5 stars
I’ve only made a few cobblers. This was the easiest and turned out the best. I shared with family who said it was to die for. My hubby and I loved it also. Going to make it a family go to! It’s a keeper! Thanks ❣️ 😊

  42. 5 stars
Easy and delicious! This was my first ever peach cobbler – I don’t like peaches, but my husband loves cobbler and his dad had just returned from South Carolina with a big box of fresh peaches so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s definitely sweet, but that pleases the palates in this family. I even enjoyed the spoonful that I ate, although as with all cobbler, I’m more about the crust and the juice than the fruit itself! Speaking of crust, it’s definitely a little bit gooey, but again, that’s how my family likes it. Definitely keeping this recipe, thanks!

  43. 5 stars
Followed exactly baking with 11yr old granddaughter. Was so easy and delicious made 2 more and froze for an upcoming family gathering. Everyone that tasted it said we’d like this instead of pie or peach crisp. This is a keeper! Will make often since have 2 trees.

  44. 5 stars
I’ve tried other peach cobbler recipes, but this one is the best. I used real peaches. My husband loves it. Best peach cobbler ever!

  45. 5 stars
I’m picky about cobbler styles and this was exactly what I was looking for. The edges were perfectly caramelized. Delicious.

  46. 5 stars
I absolutely love this recipe. But I do have a question…because life happens, I had to freeze some of my fresh peaches. Can I use frozen peaches in this recipe? Just thaw first?

  47. 2 stars
I reduced sugar some, but it was still too sweet. I did not like the texture of the dough very much either. I will go back to my original cobbler recipe. Sorry…

  48. Very very tasty. Used fresh Peaches and blueberries. Bisquick made it very easy too. Difficult to get out of pan even with all the melted butter.
So easy even a non baker like me had success.

  49. 5 stars
I have made this recipe numerous times now that summer peaches are here. It is easy and delicious. I was wondering if almond flour would work as I have a good friend with celiac disease

  50. 5 stars
I had made this recipe before, recommended by my granddaughter, and then, later on I tried it using buckwheat flour instead of all purpose flour and changed the dairy milk to oat milk. I also cut the sugar amounts in half, as that is how we like it. It was soo good! It had a nice crust in the bottom and was springy and delicious! I have gluten and milk sensitivities so this is perfect for me. Thanks!

  51. 5 stars
It looks strange going in the oven, but don’t second guess this recipe. I forgot the cinnamon and it was still delish. Better with it. This method to peal peaches is brilliant. Reheat in air fryer?Bravo!

  52. It turned out a flop! I followed the recipe to the t and it is way too sweet first of all, my batter is just sticky and cheery it is a waste of all the ingredients. I can’t even think of a way to salvage any part of it!

  53. 1 star
I regret making it like that with a dough. The dough fella gooey and doesn’t feel nice with the peaches.

  54. When using fresh peaches do you use soft peaches that are ready to eat or are they a little hard and not quite soft yet

    1. When making peach cobbler, it’s best to use ripe, soft peaches that are ready to eat. They’ll be sweeter and juicier!

  55. I’ve never made Peach Cobbler so I need to follow a recipe. This one looks good, but it has different times for baking. Is it 20 minutes or 38-40 minutes? Thanks.

  56. I see you recommend a glass dish/pan but I’m heading to a friends cabin and would like to use an aluminum pan I can leave there. It’s going to stick, isn’t it? 🙂

  57. This is one of my favorite recopies by far. I love cobbler and have tried a few recopies but none have came out as good as this. Would defiantly recommend.

  58. 5 stars
This came out AMAZING! I made this and brought this to work and I was told it was the best thing i’ve ever made. Definitely going to try this recipe with other fruits.

  59. 4 stars
Follow instruction verbatim and it came out very good. My wife and I would like it to be less sweet, so we will cut the sugar in the peaches to 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup for the dough.

  60. 5 stars
This was my first attempt to make the cobbler. I even made with fresh peaches and it turned out amazing. I will definitely share with family and friends. Thank you for sharing this amazing receipt.

This recipe is delicious and easy. I did add a couple a drops of almond extract to the batter..will be making this again!

  62. I combined two of your recipes. I made the peach cobbler and used your peach crisp topping recipe to add onto the peach cobbler. It just came out mouth watery delish. Thanks for posting your recipes. I used fresh peaches.

    1. 5 stars
This was heavenly. Everyone loved it. Wouldn’t change a thing. My peaches were perfectly ripe and juicy. Will definitely make again!!!

  63. 5 stars
This was a hit for our family. Fresh peaches were highlighted nicely with this sweet recipe. Thanks!

  64. 5 stars
This recipe is the best peach cobbler! It was voted from long time peach cobbler fans. My father and mother in law, my husband and my mother, all said it was the best they EVER had. I have used this recipe 4 times. Completely cover the top with cinnamon. I also always use fresh peaches

  65. 5 stars
Delicious made as written. Served with vanilla bean ice cream – SO good! Definitely adding this to my recipe binder and the dessert rotation!

  66. 5 stars
Kit, I thought 1 cup flour was not enough at first. I went with the recipe as is and it turned out just like my grandmother made peach cobler. I did have to bake about 20 extra minutes because I like a crispy crust. The cobler texture is supposed to be very moist even wet and runny. It’s not a cake recipe.

This will be my go-to peach cobler recipe to build on. Adding raspberries and black berries next time.

  67. 5 stars
This was a big hit with everyone. I threw out my other peach cobbler recipe and will use this from now on. I put in a few more peaches than suggested, but other than that it was perfect.

  68. 5 stars
I tried this recipe “as is” and then tried it again with half of the sugar. I definitely prefer it written “as is”- it is delicious and perfectly sweet, but not overly sweet for my taste. Thank you for sharing!!

  69. I would love to make this but it won’t let me print it out. I have tried sending it in a link to my email- nothing. I finally had to screen shot it with the adds in the way
    Sigh

    1. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble printing the recipe. It’s working on my end, but I know how frustrating that can be. If you’re still having issues, you might try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. In the meantime, I’ll make sure to pass this along to the team. Thanks for your patience, and I hope you enjoy the cobbler!

  70. 5 stars
I made this recipe again and it turned out amazing ! I used only 1 cup of sugar (1/2 cup for peaches and 1/2 cup for batter) and it was perfect.

  71. We make this often only we always called it Magic Cobbler. It doesn’t make enough doughy stuff to be a cobbler as far as I’m concerned, however. I like my cobblers to have a nice biscuit like dough plopped on top of the fruit! I haven’t been able to find a recipe like that.

  72. 5 stars
This is such an easy recipe and was so good! Personal preference, I might cut the sugar by a 1/4 cup on the peaches and crust. I love sweet but it was just a touch heavy for me. I also hit the peaches with a bit of nutmeg for a little extra flavor.

  73. This recipe is wrong. I could’ve baked it forever and it never would’ve made cake looking back at it. I think it should have 2 cups of flour not just one what a waste of peaches.

  74. 2 stars
When you convert the recipe to metric, it halves the amount of flour!

Cobbler totally failed because if it, unfortunately.

  75. Years ago I had a piece of peach pie in a restaurant that had a custard filling on the bottom and then peaches on the top. I’ve never seen it since and have never been able to find a recipe for anything similar. Does anyone know a recipe for it?

  76. 5 stars
I used 3 cups of peaches and 1 cup.of blackberries. I also reduced the sugar – 1/2 cup for the fruit and 1/2 cup for the batter. So darn good!!!

  77. 5 stars
I made this the other night and the hardest part was peeling a peach! It was very easy to make and AMAZING to eat. Delicious. 10/10

  78. Hi Lauren,
I’m planning on making this today. Have you ever tried to par bake the batter portion to avoid the dish becoming too runny? I’ve read some comments that people have had an issue with this. I think I’m going to give that a try. Just wanted to check in to get your thoughts.

    1. Hi! No need to par bake the batter; the recipe has been tested hundreds of times, and it should set perfectly if everything is followed as directed. If you find it’s not cooking in time, your oven might need calibration. Enjoy your peach cobbler!

  79. 5 stars
Oh my goodness, this was even better than I had hoped!! I took the advice of a few people in the comments and reduced the sugar and it was perfect! Here’s all the things that I changed:

    – I did just under 1/3 cup sugar in the peaches, and about 1/2 cup of sugar in the cobbler mixture.
    – I used fresh, juicy Ontario peaches so I didn’t peel them and also added about a tablespoon of lemon juice in with the peaches to keep some of the tartness.
    – I also just added about a teaspoon of cinnamon to the cobbler batter and it worked great.

Hope this helps someone. Thanks for the great recipe, I’ll definitely be making this again!

Hey Kerri, my cobbler just came out of the oven 🙂 I used your ratios and it came out perfect. The only other thing I did was add some vanilla to the batter.

  81. Thinking of trying this recipe on our charcoal smoker grill…fingers crossed! Have you ever tried it on a smoker grill?

  82. 5 stars
This peach cobbler is so easy and tastes amazing!! Has not let down after multiple times making it

  83. 4 stars
I give it four stars for ease of preparation but the batter is way too sweet so I cut the sugar in half. Other than that, love the recipe.

  84. 5 stars
I just have to share that. I have made this recipe six times this year! My family and friends have positively loved it. I have taken it with me to every barbecue and everyone has asked me for the recipe. Just make it! Thank you so much for the recipe. It is just great and so simple!

  85. 4 stars
Too sweet!!!! Most recipes you only add the one cup sugar to the flour but this has an additional 3/4 c to the peaches. I made this in a rush before a picnic and it was overly sweet, i couldn’t finish it.

  86. 3 stars
The recipe is good but extremely sweet 🙁 I reduced 1/4 cup of sugar and still super sweet. I will try again with half of the sugar.

  87. I’m thinking that this recipe will work for other fruits. I’ll memorize the ingredients (pretty simple!) and swap out fruit, adjust liquid and sugar a bit. I’ll have a warm cobble ready in a snap. Thank you!

  88. 5 stars
Very good. I was worried about including all the juice left in sauce pan making it too runny. Next time I will use all the juice. Dough absorbed it all- it was so good!

  89. 5 stars
I have made this recipe twice, both times using fresh peaches from Vogel Orchards (Fredericksburg/Stonewall, TX).
The only thing I have done differently is that I use 6 cups of peaches and use the extra as a topping, in addition to a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I put in individual containers and freeze as it is only my husband and me.

  90. Made this recipe twice and both times were a dud. Left a dish of gooey mess. Fresh ingredients, followed the directions exactly. 👎🏻

I tried this. Didn’t end up well. Probably too much fruit juice and very sweat Consistency all wrong. Probably needed another 10 minutes cooking.

  92. 5 stars
Even though you posted this years ago, I made it tonight using fresh peaches. Thank you for the blanching advice! That was very helpful. Although mine looks delicious, I am behaving until tomorrow when it will be served as part of the after church collation!

  93. 5 stars
Great recipe! Made it twice and both times everyone loved (took one to work, one for us). Based off the other reviews, I reduced sugar to 1/3 cup in the batter and it was perfect. I also probably only used about 4-5 TBS of butter. Such a simple yet delicious recipe!

  94. 5 stars
Delicious. This went over really well with my coworkers. Keeping this in my recipe book for sure.

  95. I tried this recipe 2x and both times it was a gluey, gloppy mess of undercooked topping. How did it get 5 stars?

  96. 5 stars
Delicious!! Made it yesterday, and I’m currently making more right now!! 🙂 I was lazy so I just used two cans of peaches in heavy syrup instead of the fresh peaches mixture. I drained almost all the syrup from the can, then poured it over the batter mixture. Baked for 36 mins. Perfect!! Love the moist batter part!! It’s hard to find peach cobbler recipes like this one!! Will continue to use this recipe again and again!!

  97. Very yummy! It was the first time I ever made peach cobbler. My family enjoyed it very much and it was easy to make. I used 7 fresh peaches (not canned). I think next time I’ll use less sugar as I thought it was a tad on the sweet side.
Thanks so much for the recipe!

  98. 4 stars
I just can’t rate this recipe less than 4 stars, because it’s truly very good, but the amount of sugar is unbelievable to me. I’ve cut the sugar in the batter by almost a half and it still turned out too sweet. To each their own, but next time I’ll put only 1/3 of the sugar in both filling and batter.

  99. Hi, I really enjoyed this recipe! It was phenomenal! I added about 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg to both peaches and the batter. It turned out amazing! My hubby said that I should enter it into a contest and then I could show them what real dessert tastes like!!! I will be making this recipe on repeat from now on!

  100. 5 stars
This is the absolute best recipe ever! I’ve used fresh as well as the canned peaches. Both were a hit with my family. Thank you so much.

  101. 5 stars
I’ve been searching high and low for a good peach cobbler recipe!! This one hit the spot. It’s perfect. My family loved it! Best recipe and will be the ONLY recipe I use from now on. Thank you for sharing it!

  102. 4 stars
Good recipe but too sweet. I cut back a little on sugar but I should have cut it to half the amount. Also recommend adding vanilla extract.

  103. Hi
    Making your recipe today
    I don’t need till later
    Can I prepare
Put in pan and wait to bake tonight?

  104. 5 stars
I wasn’t a fan of cobbler until I tried this recipe! Others were too dry and or biscuit-ish, but this is perfect!

  105. 5 stars
It’s the first time I’ve ever made or tasted a cobbler. I used nectarines and plums because that’s what I had on hand. It’s very good and my husband likes it too.

  106. 5 stars
I made this recipe today and it is delicious. I did have to bake it about 10 minutes longer to get a crisp top crust and also turned up the oven to 365 during those extra 10 minutes. When mixing the dry ingredients, I added a sprinkling of nutmeg.

  107. 5 stars
Amazing recipe! I added lemon juice, vanilla extract, and subbed brown sugar while cooking the peaches. When putting in the oven I was afraid it was too wet but it turned out amazing

  108. 5 stars
This recipe is SOOOO good. I’ve had a craving for peach cobbler and came across this recipe. I read through a lot of reviews and ended up adding about 3 Tbsp extra flour and 2 tsp of vanilla. I also put cinnamon in the batter and on top because who doesn’t love the extra cinnamon taste? My husband is super picky with desserts that have fruit in them, and his eyes lit up when he tasted this. It’s definitely going in my recipe book!

  109. 4 stars
Good, but a little too sweet. I cut back on the sugar a little in both the fruit and the batter. Caution: while the recipe will adapt the ingredients for different size recipes, the pan size in the recipes stays the same, so keep that in mind so you don’t make a mess in your oven.

  110. 5 stars
Made this today using fresh red haven peaches from a local orchard. This is so easy to make and delicious.

  111. 4 stars
it’s good other than the fact it’s overly sweet. I deceased the sugar by 1/3 and it still turned out too sweet for my taste. so if you don’t like extremely sweet things make sure to decrease the sugar by a lot.

  112. 5 stars
I made this today and it was absolutely delicious! My first cobbler ever. I’ve never had the dessert myself and what a wonderful blend of flavors! Thank you for the recipe. My only adjustment was I added 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract when I was working with the peaches in the sauce pan in step 2. Everything else I followed as instructed. And I used fresh peaches. What a dreamy dessert!

  113. 5 stars
Thank you for the recipe! It is absolutely delicious! I’ve made it with fresh peaches from my garden. It’s so juicy and flavorful and very easy to make.

  114. 5 stars
Delicious and so easy to throw together. It’s peach season in Western NY; I couldn’t wait to test this recipe out. I did add a splash of almond extract to the peaches as they simmered.

  115. Jean, The recipe said “if you are using canned peaches to SKIP steps 1 and 2 and begin with step 3. You didn’t have to put your peaches on the stove, but glad your dessert turned out well. I don’t think it hurt anything to cook them. Just an observation. I also like a more golden brown crust. Thumbs Up! : )

  116. 5 stars
Just made this tonight! Only thing I forgot was to sprinkle the cinnamon on! : ( But it was delish and my son loved it. Will definitely make it again! I put it in individual glass pie plates so I had to watch them to make sure they didn’t burn. I fixed the crust in a larger glass pan then divided the batter and the peaches. Fresh peaches off of my peach tree! Had to run to the store for Vanilla Ice Cream! It was YUM! = `) Printed out the recipe!

  117. 5 stars
Hi Lauren, This recipe cannot go wrong, delicious! I’ll be making it for my SIL’s birthday in a few days. Can I make it a few hours ahead of time then reheat? If so, what’s the best way to reheat in the casserole dish? Thanks

  118. 5 stars
I’ve made this several times with fresh peaches, frozen peaches (fresh are far better), and fresh blueberries and I can’t think of ever using a different recipe – ever. It’s perfect every time. Crispy, fluffy and custard-y. It’s really hard not to eat the whole pan in one sitting. Looking forward to raspberry season!

  119. 5 stars
Thank you for a super easy and delicious dessert! A great way to use the white peaches from our near 40 year old tree.

  120. 5 stars
We’ve made this a few times and love it. Easy to make dairy free for my husband who is allergic (we do coconut oil instead of butter and coconut milk instead of milk).

  121. 5 stars
My fav peach cobbler recipe! I add cinnamon while I’m cooking them on the stove top. I love it that way.

  122. 5 stars
I made this today with fresh peaches. It was delicious—the best recipe for a cake-type cobbler that I have found. I certainly recommend it. It is easy to make, too.

    1. 5 stars
      Ohhhhh my goodness 🤤🤤🤤
I made this recipe and it is to DIE for ohhhhhhh my. THANK YOU for sharing!!!!!!!!! I actually made 2 of them back to back. I had enough fresh peaches 🍑 so I said why not and I now have this recipe SAVED!!!! Plus I’m not a big fan of peach cobbler but I am now!!!!!!!!!!! So ask me why I was making it, because I LOVE to bake plus I love baking and giving so somebody is gonna be HAPPY!!!!!!!!

  123. Never thickened in oven like water
Followed the recipe to the tea 🙁
Read recipe 5 times No mistakes made

  124. I double the recipe and used one dish; it came out great! This recipe does have a more bread pudding consistency. But is much quicker to make than my grandma’s peach cobbler. Still delicious!

  125. 5 stars
So no matter the servings, a 9×13 works on all? Also, what size canned peaches for each servings? I made this once already and it was delicious! I’m wanting to make double and want to make sure I do it right!

    1. If doubling, use 2 9×13 baking dishes, and pour 1 quart canned peaches (undrained) on the batter in each 9×13 pan. So 2 quarts of canned peaches total. Enjoy!

  126. 1 star
I think this recipe calls for too much milk. Batter came out very runny. Ruined my peaches so I had to buy more.

  127. 3 stars
Great flavor , cooking time at the lower end burned the thing. Should have pulled it at 25 minutes and it probably would have been perfect .

  128. 5 stars
Boy did I screw this up from beginning to end. Let’s start with peaches. Tried the boiling water, ice bath method. Not one single peel slid off. No matter, I can slice peaches as badly as the next guy. Then I picked up a cup of sugar further down in the recipe and mixed that in instread of 3/4 of a cup. Then I realized I was slighlty shy of 4 cups of peaches, so I decided to half the recipe. Then I didn’t half the batter in the recipe and dumped the whole thing in a much smaller square pan. Then I baked it in my toaster over set on air fry not bake. Baked a good 20 minutes before I discovered that. Whelp I thought this should be interesting.

Guess what? It was delicious. Imagine if I had actually paid attention to the instructions. Planning on doing that next go round. Recipe’s a keeper. I wish I could have baked it for my dad. He loved peaches.

  129. This is the second time I made this recipe. If yours turned out soggy, like mine did the first time, cook the peaches longer so that they resemble a pie filling. Perfect!

  130. 5 stars
Tried this recipe using jiffy baking mix because I didn’t have enough all purpose flour and it was yummy, thanks for sharing the recipe

  131. 5 stars
This recipe is just like the one my mom used when I was growing up. There’s just something different about simmering the peaches on the stove first as compared to baking them. I’ve made this cobbler a few times before, but this is the first time I’ve had to do it gluten-free. It still made the perfect crust – crisp on top and soft and chewy underneath. Love it!!!! Thank you for sharing. (I’m now going to substitute fresh blackberries by request from a friend.)

  132. 5 stars
I’m not a cobbler fan but my husband loved it. The peaches weren’t quite ripe so the cup of sugar was perfect. Does this need to be stored in the refrigerator?

  133. 5 stars
Delicious! Making for the 2nd time tonight. I halved it the first time but have enough peaches to make the full recipe now!

  134. 2 stars
Batter didn’t rise to the top, so I’m left with my crumble crust on the bottom despite following the recipe to a T!

  135. 5 stars
Absolutely delicious. Sometimes batter on cobblers can be bitter but this one was so yummy. I used a dish that was too small and it ran over a little so definitely use a large casserole dish. I’m making it again tomorrow for the 4th. My new go to peach cobbler!!

  136. My mix turned out very runny, I might have used a lil too much milk? Will it still turn out ok?

    1. It’s hard to say without knowing how much milk you added! Please let us know how it turned out for you

  137. 3 stars
I was reading the recipe and questioning the massive amount of sugar in both the peach mixture and the batter. The batter is 1:1 ratio of sugar to flour. I should have listened to my gut. I like the simplicity of this recipe but I think the sugar could be cut to 1/4 the amount and still be delicious.

  138. 5 stars
This peach cobbler recipe is delicious and easy to make. I love quick recipes like this one!

  139. 5 stars
I read the reviews and decided to cut the sugar and then it wasn’t sweet enough. I’d follow the instructions.

  140. Gena if it says old fashioned it is always too sweet. I always cut the sugar by 1/3 to 1/2 of what the recipe calls for and it is perfect for the person that likes it not so sweet

    1. Hello Nancy, I plan to make this peach cobbler & am curious to know which sugar you cut back on; sugar added to peaches or sugar mixed w/flour or both? Tks

  141. 5 stars
This recipe is not only easy, it’s delicious! This was my first time making peach cobbler and I will certainly add it to my recipes. Husband loved it!

  142. 1 star
Way too sweet. People are giving it five stars after cutting sugar in half – the original recipe is not five stars. People shouldn’t have to dig through comments to modify a recipe.

  143. 5 stars
Perfect! I wouldn’t change a thing; however I used jarred peaches from Texas and used all the juice that they were contained in, skipping directions 1 & 2. We loved it. Making it again tomorrow.

    1. I would recommend keeping the filling and batter separately in airtight containers in the fridge until ready to bake. Enjoy!

  144. 5 stars
This peach cobbler recipe is absolutely delicious! It’s a wonderful, easy, and tasty recipe that I totally recommend. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the texture is just right. It’s honestly the best cobbler I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a dessert that’s both delightful and simple to make, this is the one. Five stars!

  145. 3 stars
I would have given it 5 stars but it is very very sweet. Cut back on the sugar and it would have been perfect!

  146. 5 stars
Like my grandma made it. I added fresh blueberries we had from the garden(grew the peaches also 😊)

  147. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all!
    This was absolutely delicious!

  148. 4 stars
I have this recipe in the oven now. I’m wondering if there was a type 0 on the amount of flour. It was very soupy. I’m hoping for the best! All the ingredients are delicious so I’m sure it will be fine.

    1. Mine is really soupy too , I dumped some of the juice out and put it back in the oven . Here’s hoping

  149. 5 stars
My husband and I absolutely love this recipe! Today is the first time baking it and it’s almost half gone! I didn’t have peaches so I substituted pears and put some nutmeg and cinnamon on the fruit and mixed well. Great 👍 recipe and I thank you for sharing. Laurie Warren.

    1. My family has been making it this way since the 60’s. Maybe it’s not your cup of tea, but those who grew up eating it this way enjoy it.

  150. 5 stars
My mother had the same identical recipe that she got from my grandmother and this has been made in our family for decades and I’m in my 60s. The only difference is, our recipe calls for canned, drained peaches. I’m using fresh peaches this time around, using your instructions without drained peaches and we will see how it turns out. Pretty anxious, so are all of my grandchildren. I made two batches, as I had a lot of peaches to use up. Both pans are in the oven now. It smells heavenly!

    1. I’m so glad you like the recipe! Yes, you can definitely use the same recipe with apricots. It should turn out just as delicious. Enjoy!

  151. Forgot to peel fresh peaches, 🙄hope it comes.out good. Just put in the oven. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

  152. Made this for Father’s Day. Omggggg! So delish….and EASY!
I will say that I used the method suggested to peel my peaches, do NOT overcook them or you will end up with a mess like I did. Most of them turned out mushy, but still useable.
I added a splash of vanilla in both the peach and the topping mixture and I sprinkled the top with a little brown sugar.
I seriously can’t wait to make this again!

  153. 5 stars
This is our favorite. We look forward to fresh peach season every year. I have made this with frozen beaches in the winter and this has never disappointed us . Taste Better from Scratch is the first place I look at when I need recipe

  154. I cut back on sugar and butter. I used fresh peaches. Was still plenty sweet, moist and delicious!

  155. 5 stars
This was great. I have tried several cobbler recipes and this is the one for the future. I recently started doing all the cooking because my wife is not able. Needless to say I look everyday for recipes.

  156. 5 stars
Perfect peach cobbler recipe! Just like my mom used to make us. Will be using this recipe every time I want to make peach cobbler. I used a scant 2/3 cup of sugar with the peaches as mine were very ripe. Perfect amount of sweetness!!

  157. Yep! This cobbler is for our Father’s DAy celebration too! Fresh peaches from the fruit stand down the road- YUM! Smells heavenly!

  158. 5 stars
Cooking now, smells amazing. I used fresh peaches from my farm peach tree. I’ve gathered cucumbers, Red B Potatoes, crook necked squash and Green Tomatoes for fried green tomatoes. This is Father’s Day meal for my husband.

    1. I am making this as well with fresh peaches for my husband as well as cucumber and onion salad and ribs for him. I use gluten free flour and so far it looks amazing.

  159. 5 stars
Through out the process I had my doubts, it looked like not enough batter and too much juice and butter, but no it came our a cake lol

  160. 5 stars
Delicious and made the whole house smell amazing (lots of cinnamon). Just made for hubby, and he gobbled it up and asked for seconds.

  161. 4 stars
Tastes yummy!! But mine always comes out flatter/thinner than pictured and in the video. Any suggestions? Thank you! 🙂

    1. 4 stars
I would suggest using a smaller pan. (I did.) And make sure your baking powder is fresh…not expired. ❤

    2. Check your baking powder. If it is not fresh, it could cause the flatness. Also, don’t work the batter too much!

  162. 5 stars
Amazing!! I will be using over and over again. I made with fresh Fredericksburg peaches and it was so delicious.

  163. 5 stars
Easy. And delicious! My sister in law asked for it for her birthday! I used canned peaches as that was available and still delicious! Perfect summer treat

  164. 5 stars
I’ve made this peach cobbler twice in the past week with fresh peaches and it has been an amazing hit with family and friends. I used 8-9 medium sized peaches each time and that was perfect. Thank you for this recipe!

  165. 5 stars
I made this cobbler for our son’s birthday and bought a peach pie from New Seasons. I had my doubts with this recipe because it’s super soupy when you put it in the oven. I added some flour (which in hind sight I should have followed the directions) but it still came out amazing. The kids even said this cobbler was better than the fancy store bought one.

  166. 5 stars
I absolutely loved this recipe. A little on the sweet side, however it’s an easy fix for the next one I make. Thank you so much.

  167. I’m fixing to make your easy homemade peach cobbler. It’s looks so yummy! I will comment later.

  168. 5 stars
Made this on a Saturday afternoon and my family enjoyed it so much (and so completely) that I made another one on Sunday 😂
I increased the peaches to about 6 cups, and went a little lighter on the granulated sugar (as is our preference) but this is about the best cobbler I’ve ever made. So easy and delicious!! Thanks for sharing.

  169. I don’t care for peach cobbler but I made this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. Used two different cans of peaches. We left in a little longer than noted in recipe and turned the broil on in the end to get it good and caramelized.

  170. 5 stars
I made this for a family get together, and everyone complimented it! This is definitely a great recipe!

  171. 4 stars
My pan wasn’t the right size, but everything turned out pretty good! For some reason, the batter/crust tasted like Cracker Jacks to me, but it worked well with the fresh peaches. I’m definitely going to try this again to see if I get the same flavor. Either way, not bad! All of the juice from the fresh peaches soaked in perfectly without making the dough soggy. Tasted even better the next day!

  172. 4 stars
Hi, I love the ease of using canned peaches but would you leave the note at the top about using the liquid as well. I made mine without the liquid then saw the note after I had already put them in the oven.

  173. 5 stars
To be honest, I liked everything about this recipe. The flavor is subtle (if that is a possibility with dessert), not overly sweet, and has a wonderful texture. I used the canned peaches, and since the cans at Aldi are 14.5 oz each, I had a total of 29 oz rather than 32. It still worked beautifully, everyone who ate it loved it, and many have said that they’re going to be making it. I did have to bake it at the maximum recommended cooking time. Thank you for this recipe !

  174. 5 stars
Oh my gosh!!! I made this in a huge hurry as I decided last minute to bake some treats and I happened to have ingredients for this. I had canned peaches and half and half. Those were my only substitutions. Wow!! Amazing!! I dumped most of the peach juice out assuming the canned version has way more juice than fresh. I reduced the sugar by about 1/4 with the peaches since the canned ones are in a syrup already. It took a lot longer to cook as I used an 8×8 deep square and it likely had more liquid than original recipe. But It was SOOOO GOOD!!!!! My canned peaches were not as great as fresh ones would have been. Not as sweet. But that’s canned peaches for yah. Still…. Between this and the chocolate chip cookies I made – the peach cobbler was the big hit. I poured cream over it hot and we devoured it.

  175. 5 stars
This recipe is absoloutely amazing. I am a cook and make it all the time for dessert with a vanilla whipped cream on top and people fall in love with it when they eat it. I add a little ginger and vanilla bean to mine and I think it just takes it to the next level!!!

  176. This is by far one of the best and easiest peach cobblers I have ever baked.
Thank you so very much for having made it available to all of your followers.

  177. I had exactly the same unfortunate result. I had qualms about using all the juice from the [canned] peaches and should have gone with my gut feeling that it was way too much. Wound up with a beautiful crust, but a soggy mess below that.

  178. 5 stars
Your peach cobbler recipe was so easy…to easy to be good I thought…but followed it using fresh peaches from my tree. Best ever. My familyand friends has had me make it 2 more times this week

    1. Mine turned out a bit gooey. Wondering if adding a little more flour would help? Also-can this be frozen?

  179. 5 stars
A traditional and delicious peach cobbler. Im making it again for our Mothers Day dessert. This recipe deserves 5 🌟s

  180. 5 stars
Very simple and good. I made this for my grandchildren and they absolutely loved it I used a frozen peaches from last year’s Harvest

  181. 5 stars
This is the best cobbler recipe ever! I used canned peaches but removed about half the peach juice and the cobbler cooked up in 40 mins and wasn’t too dry or wet. Will absolutely make again!

  182. 1 star
Absolutely NOT! The crust of Peach Cobbler is the star of the dish. This crust recipe is not crust and should never be mixed with peach cobbler.

    1. Yes, you can use self rising flour. Adapt the recipe to only add 1/2 tsp of baking powder and leave out the salt. This is because self-rising flour has baking powder and salt in it. Enjoy!

  183. 5 stars
I made up bags of the peaches with sugar, salt and Fruit Fresh and put them in the freezer. It saved individual bags. I just take that bag and quickly defrost and heat on the stove and complete the cobbler. It is wonderful and so easy. I will do it agin next year.

  184. 5 stars
Delicious! I made this using a jar of peaches and also added 1 1/2 cups of blueberries. The amount of sweetness was just right and the dough cooked up so nicely around the fruit. I needed to use up some buttermilk so I replaced the milk with that and I think it added a nice touch. I tossed a sprinkle of turbinado sugar on top of the cinnamon and I loved the bit of crunch it added. This was completely devoured by the end of the night!

  185. 5 stars
I have made this recipe several times using fresh peaches. It has always turned out well. I have yet to try it with canned peaches.

  186. 5 stars
A real hit with friends. I used some NZ peaches from the garden which I lightly stewed. I also used plums which worked very well too. Thanks for a simple and delicious recipe

  187. 5 stars
I, too, used canned peaches. A 29 ounce can with about a cup of juice. I did add about 3/4 of a cup of it and found that it took about 48 minutes to bake so that the center was cooked through and golden. I used buttermilk instead of regular and sprinkled the top of the peaches with cinnamon and chopped pecans. This was peachalicious. Didn’t need a topping. Was delicious as is.

  188. 5 stars
This is absolutely ther BEST. Oh my how it reminded me of my Mom’s. Super easy super delicious . I used fresh home frozen peaches. Will be making again. Any tips on how I could change it up and use rhubarb? Thank you for the great recipe.

  189. Best peach cobbler recipe out there and have tried many!!!! I added a little brown sugar and a little vanilla to the batter. So good!

  190. 5 stars
I’ve made this recipe several times and it’s always delicious. I use a 29 oz can of peaches and it comes out great. The canned peaches tasted the same as the fresh peaches when I tried using fresh, but canned is way easier. It’s a favorite of my family!

  191. This was delicious! I made it with frozen peaches from the Peach Truck. Since there was extra juice, I did add some corn starch to keep it from being too runny. If I make it again I will make more of the batter. Thanks!

    1. 5 stars
This is such a simple yet satisfying recipe! It’s not too sweet, but the perfect balance tart and rich melt in your mouth flavor. I used canned peaches (29oz) to shorten the prep time and baked for 42 minutes. To avoid a runny cobbler, you have to let it cool off before digging in. 5 out of 5 stars!

    2. I wish I had this great advice first. I used peaches from the Peach Truck as well, and my cobbler is coming out less than ideal. Thank you!

  192. Unclear as to how much of the juice to add. Used canned peaches and seems like too much liquid after 40 min. Still in the oven now trying evaporate more juice. I think it would be better to have a measured amount of juice (more specific) like the rest of the recipe.

    1. I was hoping for a measurement of the “canned peaches” too, because I’ve never heard of a 2 quart jar of peaches. I looked at a similar recipe and they used one 15 oz can, so that’s about what I used. (I actually used a 4- pack of the Del Monte peach fruit cups, they’re 4 oz each and seemed to be about 3/4 fruit, 1/4 juice. I’ll weigh it next time and update.)

Using 16 oz worked well and wasn’t runny. I’m not sure how fruity an authentic Southern cobbler is supposed to be, but it was really good! 🙂

  193. 5 stars
So delicious! I have made this twice now. I used homegrown plums and added cardamom powder to the batter, a wonderful and versatile recipe that I can use with any seasonal fruit. Yum! Thank you!

  194. You may want to mention to use a larger baking dish when doubling. ( I know, but I only halved it, ie- instead of 1 c flour sugar, I used 1 1/2 c. Flour & sugar. I’m watching my cobbler spread like the blob in my oven. Kind of funny but,,,,

  195. 5 stars
Excellent, this is my go to recipe for peach cobbler! This is the first time I am using canned peaches, but your recipes have been great. Thank you for sharing them.

  196. 5 stars
Very tasty and delicious 😋 thanks for sharing your recipe. I’ve made it several times and will definitely keep this recipe

    1. I hope anyone reading this can conclude that just because you prefer a less sweet biscuit crust, it doesn’t mean the recipe deserves one star.

  197. 4 stars
After reading all of the reviews I put 1/2 cup of sugar in with 4 cups of drained canned peaches (more than 1 can), 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and the heavy syrup juice from one can of peaches. Heated this until the sugar melted & was mixed together well. For the batter I added 1 teaspoon vanilla and a sprinkle of cinnamon to the recipe as shown. I baked this a little longer than the recipe stated because I wanted the crust to be nice and golden color all over & make sure it was done all the way through. My family and guests really enjoyed this. It reminded me of one my Mother made when I was a kid. It was easy to make and not too time consuming. Thank you!

    1. Thank you Jean for your details. I was hoping to find the conversion on the canned peaches and I like your alterations.
      Peace, Love & BBQ!
      Steve

    2. Thanks for the laugh, Jean. But glad you somehow saved the day at the end! I forgot to add the cinnamon and had too many things going on while I was trying this new recipe. The boiling water also didn’t work on ALL of my peaches, but it did on half of them. That’s the hardest part of the recipe. Getting those slippery peaches done! Ha! Good luck on the next one!

    3. Thumbs Up! : )

  198. This recipe is a big hit. I just made it with apples and dried cranberries. I’ve made it with peaches and blueberries, and every time it was just great, so I’m hoping this will be a hit

    Wow! Super yummy 😋
Even tried baking it in a pizza oven and it came out incredible and only took about 5 minutes. We’ve made this recipe a lot and even have added garden blueberries and blackberries to the peaches. Thank u so much for sharing this!!

Excellent, first time experience. My husband said it was better than he remembered as a kid.
It will be made many more times.

  201. Lauren I must write to tell you about my peach Cobbler gone bad. I wrote a review yesterday saying it did not raise. My baking powder. Must’ve been bad well this morning I went to throw away that can of baking powder.Ha Ha I read it!!! Corn starch!!! I bet I never make that mistake again but I’ve never had cornstarch in that little round tin. Always bought it in boxes. I’m now a widow and so I have been trying to cut back on sizes 6 AM in the morning I’m laughing I’ve never made such a crazy baking mistake before, I will try your peach cobbler recipe again the flavor was good. The bottom was just strange.

  202. I made this recipe to take to a cousins house for dessert.
It did not turn out the way I expected. I thought the bottom layer, the flour baking powder sugar and milk would raise around the peaches. It did not raise at all. Maybe my BP is bad. I do not know. I followed to directions to a tee.

I made this I use frozen peaches, wow delicious 😋. I made it again the next day! And saved the recipe.
My husband request it to have for his birthday instead of cake😂 Thank you for sharing

  204. It’s runny. I made it last night and tried again tonight. With. Canned. Drained one not the other. I’m in tears.😩

This peach cobbler recipe is by far the worst one I’ve used. I couldn’t find the one that I typically use and decided to use this one, and it was horrific. After almost an hour, it was a goopy, soggy mess and was too much liquid. I wouldn’t use 6 tablespoons of butter on top of a batter and peaches with juice—it’s just a bad combination and I should have trusted and went with my gut.

The crust was done cooking, but everything else was horrifically underdone. Not to mention, the crust was uneven and didn’t rise evenly, thus making the cinnamon gather and bunch up unevenly across the dish.

I will most definitely not be using this recipe again and refused to serve this at Bible study due to how badly it turned out.

      1. I had exactly the same unfortunate result. I had qualms about using all the juice from the [canned] peaches and should have gone with my gut feeling that it was way too much. Wound up with a beautiful crust, but a soggy mess below that.

Making this easy and delicious peach cobbler for the 2nd time in a week, my family loved it and it’s so easy to make and the cinnamon warming as the cobbler cooks makes the whole kitchen smell so good

Just made this for my husband because I didn’t pick any up for him at a local BBQ joint that makes amazing cobbler. This was better! Thanks for sharing!

  207. I make this all the time with different fruits…and have even made it with canned pie filling 😋 always delicious.

  208. Mine just turned into a gooey mess. Baked for 40 minutes.. the house smells great, but the dish didn’t turn out

I prefer the natural sweetness of peaches and using ripe juicy peaches here in Australia I was able to cut the sugar by 2/3s (75gm in the fruit and 50gm in the batter). Otherwise, this was a successful recipe for us and we enjoyed the warm peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Thank you.

    1. 3 stars
Not sure if I had too much juice from the peaches, but the batter looked and tasted raw even though I had it in the oven for over an hour.

  210. Peanut butter squares it’s like a brownie and the icing you use the egg yolk with peanut butter and powdered sugar it’s so yummy it’s a old recipe I hope you can find this one please

Just made this for tonight! Smells heavenly! Mixed frozen and fresh peaches but followed the recipe exactly! Can’t wait!

This is maybe my 5th or 6th time making this recipe. I’ve used both fresh peaches (in season) and canned. I’ve also used fresh apples and blueberries. It’s pretty fool proof and always delicious. I like peaches best but the recipe is very flexible and can easily be used with other fruits. It reminds me of a creeping cobbler I had in my teens at my friend’s house, that his mother made. I searched for that recipe forever. This is very close. Highly recommend and am so glad I stumbled onto it. So easy and delicious.

  213. 5 stars
Taste just like my grandmother’s recipe…I used 1 large can of peaches with heavy syrup just like she always did..almost made me cry from happy memories.

  214. 5 stars
I made this recipe and it was wonderful. I had never made peach cobbler before and it was very easy and quick to prepare. It brought back great memories of eating peach cobbler at other people’s houses and events and this is exactly what a homemade peach cobbler should look and taste. My husband loved it too. Try it you won’t regret making it. I’m getting ready to make it again tonight, yummy!!!

My family and I LOVE this recipe! So I made a few adjustments. First, used the peaches in a jar from Trader Joe’s without the juice. Next I used 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar. Then I added 2 tsp of vanilla extract and 3 pinches of nutmeg. For the milk, I used 3/4 cup of half and half and 1/4 cup of milk. Lastly, I used 7 tsb butter. Swirled it all together, baked at 350 for exactly 38 minutes. When runny in the middle midway and edges are crispy, I covered with foil. That did the trick until it was done baking. It was so delicious with vanilla ice cream!

    1. Thanks for the tip. I plan on making it tonight and I have TJ peaches too. I was concerned with topping on bottom that TJs would make it soggy. I’ll try your method.

A friend shared this recipe with me and now I’ve made it 3 times in less than 1 month period. It’s so good! Some things I did differently: I used frozen peaches, thawed out and whatever juices it came in, I increased the recipe 1.5 to accommodate the 2 bags of frozen peaches and well, more is better!! And, I added/dropped in blueberries right before putting in the oven, great combo and the first time I did it I mixed them in with the peaches and it all came out very blue. Slightly wierd looking but still tasted amazing. Everyone loves this dish.

  217. I ‘ve used your recipe, and all I can say is ‘Bless Your Heart’ I love it and so does my family. I always have to make a huge pan of it, and it’s never enough. Try it, I’m sure you’ll love it to ……

  218. 2 stars
The inside batter was still undercooked after 40 minutes but I had to pull it out because the top was getting too brown. Bummer 🙁

    1. Hi Brittany, next time make sure it’s baking on in the center of the oven (not upper racks), and if it’s getting too brown, place a piece of aluminum foil on top, and continue baking until it’s cooked through.

    1. Well, don’t use it!! Salt brings out flavour and unless you have a highly processed diet, it won’t harm you, but you will taste the difference. 🙂

  219. 2 stars
Unfortunately, this didn’t turn out well. This is the second peach cobbler I’ve tried and the first was excellent but I couldn’t find the recipe again.

I followed these instructions exactly. The edges over cooked and the inside under cooked.

This is a great recipe as someone newer to baking and making my own peach cobbler. I’ve used this recipe a lot and have made it with both fresh peaches and canned, and I love how quick it is to make when I have cans. I do have a couple notes, I think you should drain most of the juice from the canned peaches, if not even just scoop them out with a spoon. I saw another comment on this and agree. The first time it got soggy and it adds to the baking time. I like to eat my cobbler with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, but I don’t always have those on hand, so I started adding 1 teaspoon of vanilla in my batter. I also sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg into the batter and still sprinkle cinnamon on top of the peaches. Yum!

  221. Hi! Can the recipe be doubled in the same 9×13” pan? I made it once and it was great but I’d like it a bit thicker. Just curious of the amount of time you’d bake it for a double batch. Thanks in advance

I made this last night for my husband’s birthday. He didn’t want cake and I couldn’t find the pie he said he wanted anywhere in our area. He really loved this. My kids loved it too. Great recipe. Kind of on the sweet side for me but it was really good. The crust rose and was kind of crispy on the top too which was my favorite part. Will be making it again. It did not last long- no leftovers. Thank you for sharing your mom’s love with the rest of us.

  223. Thinking about making this for Thanksgiving. You show one cobbler with the crust on top, but the recipe only mentions pouring it in the dish first with the peaches on top.

  224. 5 stars
Absolutely love this recipe! I also replace the peaches and use homemade apple pie filling and it’s soooo delicious! Family favorite and my go to desert! Quick and easy and delicious!

I made this last night. I ran out of sugar after one cup as I made a double batch. I did the other cup with brown sugar and he says it’s just not sweet enough. I also used canned peaches. How can I fix the issue with it not being sweet enough?

    1. I have used frozen peaches every time so far. I actually put the frozen peaches in the pot with sugar and defrosted them that way once and I’ve also just let them sit out to defrost, then heated them with the sugar. Both were absolutely fine.

  226. 5 stars
I made it by half the amount of ingredients in 8×8 baked 32 minutes. Used 1 can sliced peaches. It is so easy and tastes really good. It’s a keeper!!! Thanks

  227. Love this recipe!! Made it with peaches first and now apples with Carmel mixed in- yummmm!! Summer flavors then fall! Thx for the great recipe!

Thanks for sharing this recipe Lauren. I’m just trying it out for the first time. It seems pretty simple and easy to do. I’ll let you know for sure how it comes out. 🙂

  229. Absolutely delicious. Made several times using different fruits. Even mixed fruit with batter before putting in cake pan. First time. Q Will see how it works today.

  230. Made 2 of them tonight. I used some German packets of Sugar and sprinkled them on top along with the Cinnamon. Used my all go to Mexican vanilla in the mix also. Delicious. Thanks for the Recipe.

I cut the sugar in half and for the smallest portion used the small square Pyrex pan to bake it in. I had a couple of extra peaches so after they stewed down I threw them into my carrot soup that was a bit blend and I will now be doing that regularly.

  232. I’ve kept this recipe for so long. A full sorority of girls, devours this peach cobbler!! Huge hit!! Now I’m making it for my family and neighbors 😀 thank you for good n easy recipe. Scratch is supposed to be hard. Not this one. Thank you

    1. I have to agree. Did you use canned peaches? I’m wondering if that made the cobbler excessively sweet. Next time I will cut the sugar in half and update in the comments.

  233. This was indeed easy to make and tasted great but… it didn’t have the “cobbler effect” on top, at all. Hence, might I suggest a detail to be included in Step 5 of the written recipe:
    – Swirl the peaches around the batter such that the batter would surface creating a crusty cobbler effect after getting baked.

I only realized that I needed to do that watching the video after I had already baked the cobbler.

Also, I was wondering If I needed to peel the peaches – I quite enjoy the texture of peach skin, so I left it on, and it was great! In addition to creating an interesting texture, it also held the peach chunks together better for that nice bite of peach per mouthful. 🙂

    1. Jeonah, my result was the same as yours, as my dough didn’t rise. (was still delicious tho) I read someone’s comment about using expired baking powder and how it negatively affects the dough rising. When I checked the expiration date on my baking powder, mine was long expired. It is only good 18-24 months after manufactured. Check the date on yours and if expired, you may want to give this recipe another try.

  234. I am planning to try this recipe very soon. We just visited my cousin in Quincy IL last week. She talked about making a homemade peach cobbler. That made me hungry & I didn’t have a recipe to use. Thank you so much.

  235. 5 stars
Fantastic and super easy! I have a bumper crop of peaches off the tree so this was the perfect outlet to use ’em up. Rare for northern Nevada! I split the sugar 50-50 between white and brown. Went a little larger with the peaches, ‘cuz I have too many of them! Now I’m drooling next to the oven with a big spoon in my hand and a tub of vanilla ice cream on the counter… 🙂

Thanks for a keeper of a recipe!

Made this recipe today. So disappointed. I love trying other recipes but this one failed I should have known when it says 1 cup of sugar and flour for the topping. Live and learn. Wasted good organic fresh peaches.

  237. 5 stars
I must’ve added too much flour the first time, but the cobbler was still delicious. I tried again, got the ingredients right, and it was even yummier!

  238. 5 stars
    Great recipe!
Tweaked it a bit. Used salted Irish butter in the batter, omitted salt. Sprinkled couple of dashes of cinnamon in peaches after cooking. Sprinkled Nutmeg instead of Cinnamon over the top! Absolutely Divine!! 🙂

I made this cobbler using Splenda instead of sugar. It is very, very yummy, though the crust was a little dry. I’ll add a couple more peaches next time.

    1. 5 stars
I started switching Splenda for sugar in about all of my baking sweets ( when my old man was diagnosed diabetic) and nobody even knows the difference. I do enjoy brown sugar Splenda, a little extra vanilla and using a heavier milk 1/2 & 1/2 helps to give them a natural flavor. Or maybe creamier flavor which we love.

I made this with peaches and blueberries. It was delicious, and so easy! I will make this often and share the recipe with everyone!

    1. I’m wondering if I can use the same recipe but with mixed berries to change it up? I did it with fresh peaches in the summer, and it was absolutely delight!

      1. 5 stars
Yes! I used frozen mixed berries and just heated them in a sauce pan to get some liquid from them. I also melt the butter, add it to the batter, and swirl in the fruit! Good luck!

  241. 5 stars
Delicious! Very straightforward to make. I made with fresh peaches as this is peach season. Everyone went back for seconds. Thank you for sharing!

  242. 5 stars
I had only 4 peaches so I added about 1.5 cups of frozen blueberries and used a bit less sugar in the fruit. Other than that, I followed the recipe and it turned out fine. I think I’d reduce the sugar in the fruit even more next time.

    1. I do not know about assembling a day ahead and cooking later, but I cooked mine a day ahead and plan to warm it at 350 degrees for 20 minutes the next day. Another poster had good experience with reheating.

  243. Looks and smells delicious. I’m going to cook the cobbler longer to make sure crust is done. Thanks for sharing!

  244. I’ve Probably made this prach cobbler a hundred times . Its perfect every time
never made it to the bottom of the page to leave a message!! Thank you from myself 😊my kids 2 husband’s and any number of co workers !!

I’ve made this several times, following the recipe exactly, and it’s perfect! I have some frozen rhubarb, and I usually make a delicious rhubarb crisp but am wondering if this cobbler recipe would work equally well with rhubarb. Any thoughts?

Made this today with some Niagara peaches I was canning…used maple syrup instead of sugar to simmer the peaches and added a little rum flavouring. So, so, delicious!
    Thanks for sharing!

Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly, using fresh local peaches, and my family absolutely loved this dessert. Thank you for the recipe!

I’ve made this 2x today, I slightly cut down the sugar for the badder. I’m usually not a big fan of peach cobbler but this recipe is a keeper in my family! Love how it’s delicious and so easy to make.

  248. 4 stars
We have made this several times. The first time with fresh peaches and it turned out great!

I have made it 2x with canned peaches and the cake didn’t firm up without a lot of extra cook time. Last night I had to cook it 2 hours to get cake to firm up. I’m thinking the canned peaches have too much liquid. I am going to make it again and only use liquid from one can. Will report back.

  249. 5 stars
Very easy recipe and it came out great! I was taught to make it with a pie crust instead of the batter by my great grandmother, she said that is a “crumble” not a cobbler but the end result is….they are both good recipes!

  250. 5 stars
Wonderful recipe ! I used fresh peaches from my peach tree. Super easy to put together . Will use the recipe again .

  251. What a lovely recipe. I made it exactly as desribed and while making it, already thought that this is a looooot of sugar. It is really good, but way to sweet for me… although I am a sweet tooth.
Next time … and yes I will make it again… next time I will use half the amount of sugar… max!!!

  252. 5 stars
Amazing! Whole family loved it! I only did 1/4 cup sugar to our peaches since they were overripe off the tree, so just in case anyone else has lots of fresh peaches 🍑! Will definitely do this recipe again!!

  253. 5 stars
This recipe is amazing! So delicious and easy to make. Thank you for sharing. I used fresh peaches that I didn’t know what to do with. They weren’t sweet but you would never know it. The recipe made them perfect.

  254. My peach’s would not peel easy and were mushy red inside they came fresh off the trunk! Also they didn’t taste good? Why?

  255. I used a homemade peach pie filling. I feared that 1 cup sugar in the batter would be way too sweet, so I only used 1/2 cup. It was perfect. If I had used fresh peaches, I probably wouldn’t have reduced the amount.

  256. 5 stars
Yummy—reminds me of cobbler I got at school when lunches were prepared by moms and grandmothers right there in the cafeteria.

    1. Exactly! That was another part of my comment I should have added. Those were the good old days when lunches were homemade at the school in a huge kitchen. All the food was delicious, but I definitely remember the peach cobbler they made and yes this recipe tastes just like I remember. My mom was an excellent baker but never made cobblers or crisps, but the good old lunch ladies made it perfect like this recipe.

  257. Best peach cobbler ever. Tried it last year and have continued to use it with fresh peaches. Haven’t tried it yet with canned peaches.

  258. 3 stars
I halved the sugar (peaches and batter) and added an extra peach.

It is actually delicious now but at half the sugar it’s still just right on the too sweet side for my taste.

The dough also only popped up and got crispy at the edges but I’m guessing it’s because I had extra filling to start with. Maybe the recipe should state how much total peach filling rather than the amount prior to cooking – might be why others are having some issues with the same thing.

Anyway, overall really delicious the way it turned out but I halved the sugar and it’s still extremely sweet. If I make it again I’ll try using just a quarter cup of sugar in the batter.

I keep trying recipes until I find one that pleases me. This is it. This will be my go-to peach cobbler recipe. Everyone loved it.

It’s delicious! I added blackberries that I had in the fridge. A definite crowd pleaser. The recipe produced a great crusty top.
