Full credit for this recipe goes to my husband, who makes the BEST milkshakes around! He has several specialties but this Oreo milkshake is both of our favorite, and he makes it frequently for us on the weekends. I made him measure out every ingredient last time he made them so that I could share it with you all!

How to make an Oreo Milkshake:

  • You only need FOUR ingredients: Vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies, milk, and chocolate sauce.

The ingredients needed to make Oreo Milkshakes.

  • Combine ice cream, milk, chocolate sauce, and Oreos in a blender and blend until combined. Top with whipped cream.

Two process photos for making Oreo Milkshakes in a blender.

If you like a smooth shake blend all the ingredients at the same time. If you like your Oreo milkshake chunkier, either blend the Oreos briefly towards the end of mixing or crush them by hand and stir them in after all ingredients have blended.

Other Shake Variations:

  • Healthy (or healthier) Oreo shake: Substitute skim milk and use 6 Oreos instead of 12.
  • Vegan Oreo shake: Substitute almond milk and vegan vanilla ice cream. Omit whipping cream.
  • Caramel Oreo milkshake: Add a drizzle of caramel syrup to ingredients in blender.
  • Banana Oreo shake: Use a frozen banana and blend with all other ingredients.
  • Double chocolate Oreo shake: substitute chocolate ice cream for vanilla.

  1. What kind of “chocolate sauce”? Like smuckers hot fudge in the jar or Hershey’s syrup? Or something else? Thanks! Can’t wait to try!

This recipe made perfect Oreo milkshakes that my whole family loved–I thought the addition of the chocolate sauce (I had to substitute Hershey chocolate syrup) made it extra special. We topped ours with whipped cream, as suggested. Delicious!

Wow!!! So tasty. This recipe for the milkshake is much tastier than the ones we get in restaurants. Can’t wait to make more! 😉☺️
