This easy Orange Julius recipe is made with orange juice, milk, water, ice vanilla and a frozen banana.
Growing up my mom made homemade Orange Julius all the time!  As a mom myself, I love making it for my kids because I always have the ingredients on hand!  If you love fruit smoothies, try this Healthy Breakfast Smoothie, Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie or  Beginners Green Smoothie.

I’ve been obsessed with smoothies and drinks for breakfast lately. I think it’s partly because fresh fruit has been plentiful and cheap at the grocery store, so I’ve been stocking up!  It’s making me really excited for summer.
Orange Julius is a fruit smoothie that is made by combining orange juice with ice cubes, sweetener, milk, and vanilla.  The term was originally the name of American beverage store that created the original orange Julius fruit smoothie.  But it’s so easy to make at home that it’s become a household name.

What I love about this recipe:

  1. Frozen banana: I usually always add a frozen banana because it makes it thicker and almost creamier.
  2. Secret ingredient: The secret ingredient to this recipe is adding a little bit of powdered sugar.  It adds a fluffy, smooth texture and taste that sends this drink over the top!
  3. Adaptable: I love the traditional version, but I love adding whatever fruit I have on hand to mix things up as well (see variations below).

Ingredients:

  • Frozen orange juice concentrate
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Ice Cubes
  • Frozen Banana (optional)
  • Orange Zest (optional)

How to make orange Julius in two steps:

1. Add to blender: milk, water, orange juice concentrate, powdered sugar, vanilla and ice.

2. Blend all the ingredients until smooth.  I like to add a frozen banana and orange zest as well.
