I have been so excited to share this Caramel Pecan Apple Crisp recipe. It’s absolutely delicious! Hooray for amazing fall dessert recipes! Anything with apples or pumpkin has my vote.

Caramel Pecan Apple Crisp in a casserole dish with a spoonful taken out.

My traditional apple crisp recipe has received rave reviews, and this Caramel Pecan Apple Crisp takes my old favorite to a whole new level! Pecans are mixed in the crumble topping and toasted perfectly crisp. And caramel sauce is drizzled over the apples and over the crispy crumble when it’s finished baking.

Apples topped with a pecan crumble and a scoop of ice cream.

The end result is amazing- warm cinnamon apples, crumble oat topping and sweet caramel flavors all in one bite.

  1. This recipe is absolutely delicious. It’s the best apple crisp recipe I’ve had ever had. Adding caramel and pecans, what could be better!

  2. I want to make this for Thanksgiving. Just curious could you use walnuts in place of pecans? I have 2 bags of walnuts I need to get used up.

This was delicious but I did double the topping in the recipe. I had trouble getting the topping mixture to a crumbly texture and probably over-mixed the mixture- but it was still yummy. I put vanilla ice cream on top of the apple crisp then drizzled caramel over the whole thing before serving it in individual ramekins. So good!

I made this the other day and everyone enjoyed it. Because we all like crumb toppings I doubled the topping. I would also double the caramel sauce next time.

This was great, my husband went nuts over it! I am making it for Thanksgiving! I’ve used the caramels and the ice cream caramel topping. the topping is great for the left overs. It’s easier to store and reheat.

    The Best Apple Crisp EVER!!!

I have made apple crisp for years but this recipe is the best I have ever tasted. I have taken it to parties and everyone wants the recipe and comments how amazing it is.

    Thank you for sharing!

  7. Could this be assembled in advance and popped in the oven, say, a day later? I’m hoping to make this for Thanksgiving at the in-laws’ but not sure if I’ll have time the day of with other dishes I’ll be preparing. Thanks!

    1. Absolutely! My advice would be to make the apple filling, adding a tiny bit more lemon juice so the apples don’t brown. Store the apple filling in an air-tight container, in the fridge, for up to one day. Make the crumble topping and put it in a separate ziplock bag, in the fridge. When ready to bake, remove from the fridge, and sprinkle the topping on top. Bake as directed. I hope everyone loves it!

I was seriously in a rut when it comes to baking Apple Crisp! I didn’t even have to pull up the recipe anymore I knew it so well! When my friend handed me a bag of apples from her tree a few days ago I vowed I would sear h for a new recipe that would inspire me! This definitely hit the mark. My “new” Apple Crisp was amazing!

I doubled the recipe in a 9 by 13 pan to take to a group camping event. It was absolutely amazing! Served with ice cream and guests came for seconds, thirds. It was gone in seconds…thank you for sharing!

  10. Just wondering roughly how many servings this recipe makes…planning on making it for a work Thanksgiving potluck and wasn’t sure if I will need to double or triple the recipe. Thanks!

  11. How many servings would you say are in this recipe? Trying to figure out if I need to double or triple it for a potluck dinner

  12. After making 6 quarts of applesauce (I have 2 five-gallon buckets of freshly picked apples…), I knew I wanted to make an apple crisp, too. I started with your regular crisp recipe, but clicked on the caramel sauce recipe, which lead to THIS, and I decided to throw in the caramel with the crisp, and YUM. Was this ever good. I’m usually all about chocolate for dessert, but this was delicious.

I didn’t have pecans, but I’d like to try that next time. (I got through one bucket of apples today, I still have another bucket to go, plus several trees full out at our farm if I want more apples!)

  13. Oh, that drizzle tho! I just want to whip out a spoon and take a bite 😀 Need to make this while apples are still in season!

  14. This looks amazing! I LOVE apple crisp, and while I don’t make it very often, I do enjoy the indulgence now and then 😉 I’m definitely pinning this for later!

  15. Anything that has caramel on it I am down to eat! It has always been a favorite so I know I would love this!!

  16. I wanted to make an apple dessert for this weekend. This is a good size and sounds delicious. Thanks for sharing.

    Wishes for tasty dishes,
    Linda

  17. I’m a sucker for apple crisp and I’m a sucker for caramel apples. I’m definitely going to making this. Combining two of my favorite things?! Yes, please! Thanks for sharing!
